Photographer and well-known Burbank resident, Otto Jensen, died at the age of 101 after being struck by a car while crossing the street just outside his Olive Avenue studio, police said Wednesday.
The collision happened Tuesday about 8:15 p.m. on Olive Avenue near Griffith Park Drive.
The driver of the vehicle, 91-year-old Burbank resident Mary Beaumont, stopped at the scene and was interviewed by police, Sgt. Darin Ryburn. She was not arrested or cited.
"It's sad all around," Ryburn told the Los Angeles Times.
In an interview last year (embedded, below), Jensen -- a former boxer -- credited his longevity to taking it easy. He was a fan of Manny Pacquiao, and usually smoked two cigars a day.
LA Weekly has posted a few photographs reportedly taken by Jensen during his career.
