10 Freeway in Pomona Reopens After Gravel Truck Crash

The trailer was carrying rocks, which spilled onto the freeway.

The westbound 10 Freeway in Pomona reopened Wednesday morning after an overturned double-trailer truck spilled gravel on the road and forced a four-hour closure.

The California Highway Patrol received a call about an erratic driver in a black vehicle just before 2 a.m. That driver lost control and hit the center divider.

The driver of the double-trailer truck crashed into the car and overturned near Orange Grove Avenue. The trailer was carrying rocks and gravel, which spilled onto the freeway.

The driver of the trailer was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the black vehicle was not injured, but was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

A Sig-Alert was issued immediately following the crash. It was cleared just before 6 a.m.
