One Killed in Shooting Near Panorama City Swap Meet

One person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a shooting at a Panorama City intersection near an indoor swap meet after a crash.

Police responded at about 2:30 p.m. to the intersection of Parthenia Street and Tobias Avenue outside several businesses near the Valley Indoor Swap Meet.

At least five people were injured at the scene.

Police shared surveillance footage that showed a crash at the intersection at 1:40 p.m. Three cars pulled over following the crash. Many of the drivers stayed for a while. About 40 minutes after the crash, a man in a white shirt runs across the street and starts shooting on a busy sidewalk.

People scattered in every direction after the shooting, and one person was killed while several others were hurt.

Details about the injured patients' conditions and the nature of the injuries were not immediately available. Authorities could not confirm how many patients suffered gunshot wounds.

Authorities are searching for a man who left the scene of the shooting in a newer model BMW, possible a M3.
