California State Senator Fran Pavley signed on Tuesday to support a letter calling for a full cleanup of radioactive and chemical contamination at the Santa Susana Field Lab in the hills between Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The letter was sent by LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl to the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), the state agency in charge of regulating and cleaning up toxic sites.

Kuehl wrote to DTSC Director Barbara Lee that, "We urge an end to delays and diversions and efforts to undo the cleanup commitments" made by the Boeing corporation, the current owner of the field lab.

The letter was also signed by LA City Councilman Mitchell Englander.
