Patrols Increased After Molestation at Pico Rivera Park

Everything about the 4th of July in Rio Hondo Park Monday seemed normal except for the multiple sheriffs’ patrol cars watching over the crowds.

It's comforting to families like the Robledos of Montebello.

Claudia and Victor Robledo say they won't let their children go to the bathrooms by themselves.

They have three children, including 5-year-old Babel. It was a six-year-old boy who was molested in this bathroom around 230 Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say the suspect walked out of the bathroom with the boy pretending to help him.

The suspect is described as six feet to six two, about 200 pounds, wearing a headband with a Mexican flag on it, with tattoos on his neck and one arm.

Police told NBC LA News the suspect reportedly fled in a white van.

The LA County Sheriffs Department says patrols have been increased at all parks.

Maria Loera says she tries to keep an eye on her daughters at all times. One of them is six, the other three.

Families here at the park are trying to enjoy their Fourth of July. But they are also keeping their eyes open at all times.
