A search team found the wreckage of a small plane near interstate 15 in the Lytle Creek area Thursday. Two people were found dead in the wreckage.
The Daily Breeze reported that the plane was registered to an El Segundo man.
The twin-engine Cessna 340 departed from Henderson, Nev., Monday en route to Compton and crashed about six miles from the Rialto Airport in San Bernardino County, authorities said.
Search crews found the wreckage about 1:50 a.m., said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.
"Both people on board were killed, and the aircraft was destroyed," Gregor said.
The names of the dead were withheld, pending family notification. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
