Pursuit Ends With PIT Maneuver Sending Vehicle Crashing Into 2 Cars

Two cars stopped at an intersection were rear-ended in Anaheim

A police pursuit in the Orange County area ended with a dangerous PIT maneuver that sent the pursuit vehicle crashing into two cars stopped at a red light in Anaheim Sunday night.

Gil Leyvas and Newschopper4 Bravo were over the chase as the driver repeatedly eluded police seemingly attempting to perform a PIT manuever.

Eventually, a police vehicle approached the pursuit vehicle and performed a dangerous PIT maneuver that sent the pursuit vehicle skidding into two vehicles parked at a red light near the intersection of West Ball Road and Gilbert Street.

The crash ended the chase, as the driver surrendered, at approximately 9:54 p.m.

It was not immediately clear whether the people in the two vehicles struck by the pursuit vehicle during the PIT maneuver were injured.
