A person suspected of kidnapping a child was taken into custody in South Los Angeles Tuesday night after leading police on a pursuit.
Los Angeles Police Department officers began pursuing the suspect driving a white SUV with one child inside in the area of Imperial Highway and Broadway.
The suspect led police westbound on Imperial Highway toward Los Angeles International Airport before looping back and stopping in a driveway in the area of East 95th Street and South Main Street about 9 p.m.
The suspect exited and re-entered the SUV several times before LAPD officers advanced and took them into custody about 9:05 p.m. Officers also removed one child from the SUV and took them into protective custody.
