Police Search For Christmas Eve Robber

Hermosa Beach Police Search for a Man Who Stole $400 from an 80 Year Old Woman on Christmas Eve. The Suspect may Have Followed the Woman Home from the Bank Where she had Just Withdrawn the Money from an ATM

Hermosa Beach Police have released a sketch of a man they think robbed an 80 year old of $400 she intended to give as Christmas gifts.

At 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve the woman withdrew the money from an ATM, the Daily Breeze reported.

She then drove home, and the robber confronted her after she parked in her garage, the Daily Breeze reports.

The suspect said something to the woman, then assaulted her, which caused some injury, police said, as reported by the Hermosa Beach Patch. Then the suspect fled with her purse.

The woman was not seriously injured in the assault.

The man was described as black, 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall. He was stocky, and clean shaven with short black hair, reports the Daily Breeze.

Police don't know if the suspect followed the victim home, but video surveillance near the bank showed a dark-colored vehicle driving behind the victim's car, according to the Daily Breeze.
