Police shot and wounded a man they say was armed with a knife at a Venice coffee shop on Monday, authorities said.
The shooting happened after police were called out to the 600 block of Rose Avenue, said LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera, a department spokeswoman.
LAPD Sgt. Barry Montgomery said the man went into a coffee shop armed with a knife.
Police arrived and ordered the man to drop the knife. He refused and that's when an officer-involved shooting occurred, Montgomery said.
