Teacher Says She Got into Porn Because She was “Desperate” for Money

Stacie Halas, who starred as "Tiffany Six" in porn films is fighting to keep her teaching job

An eighth grade teacher in Oxnard at the center of a porn video controversy said on Friday that she got into adult film acting because she was "desperate" for money, after having gone $100,000 into debt.

The school superintendent in Oxnard wants teacher Stacie Halas fired because she allegedly lied about her past six years ago in her role as the adult film actress "Tiffany Six."

Halas said she had mounting $60,000 in student loans and defended her actions at administrative hearings this week as she fights to keep her job as a teacher at Haydock Intermediate School.

She denied being intentionally misleading about her role in an adult film that surfaced in April, shocking district officials.

Halas testified that she did not think any videos featuring her remained on the Internet when she was confronted by officials and removed from her teaching post.

She testified she made close to $20,000 over nine months. Typical pay for a single shoot was $1,500, she said.

When asked whether she would consider returning to the porn industry, Halas said, "I would never hurt myself like that again."

Halas said that since her teaching career began, she has been "pretty nerdy" and does not party.

"All I do is work," she said. "I go home and sleep."
