Armed Man Surrenders After Barricade at Downtown LA Hotel

An armed man surrendered to police after he barricaded himself inside a hotel room in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning, officials said.

Police responded to the Union Hotel located in the 700 block of East 9th Street around 1:30 a.m. after reports of a man who pulled a gun on his neighbor during an argument, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A SWAT team gassed the suspect out from his room and he surrendered some time before noon, LAPD said. He was taken into custody without incident.

Residents and guests were evacuated as a precaution, police said.

No injuries were reported.
