Ohio 16-Year-Old Amputee Defies Odds Playing Football

Doctors never thought Damon Hodges would walk - let alone play football. But now the 16-year-old, whose legs were amputated shortly after birth, is doing just that.

At 6-feet 3 inches tall and 165 pounds, the Ohio high school junior has the size of a lineman.

But when Damon was born with twisted feet, they had to be amputated, making the task of playing football seem unreachable.

"My mom would never let me play because she was scared," Damon said.

The 16-year-old has been wearing prosthetics since he was 2 years old.

"They told me I couldn't do a lot of things, but now I'm doing everything they told me I couldn't," Damon said.

He's now learning to play football despite being told he never would hit the field.
