An investigation is underway into a shooting at the end of a police pursuit in Studio City Sunday morning, said police at LAPD’s Hollywood Division Station.
The chase started at 3:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Lillian Way in Hollywood after a 'shots fired' call, said officials.
Witnesses say the shooting resulted from an argument between two women, but the suspect had fled by the time officers arrived, said investigators.
Her car was spotted by patrolling officers on Sunset Boulevard near Gower Street, but she sped away, said officials.
The pursuit ended when the suspect's car crashed into a parking structure in the 4500 block of Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Studio City at 4:30 a.m.
The woman shot herself in the head before any officers could approach her car, said officials.
She’s hospitalized but her condition is unknown.
No other injuries have been reported. No one was hit in the original shooting, which is still under investigation, said authorities.
