$50,000 Reward Offered in Killing of 17-Year-Old

Detectives say they have exhausted their leads in the slaying of a teenager in August

Police on Thursday announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the slaying of a teenager in South Los Angeles back in August.

Homicide detectives exhausted all known leads in the Aug. 3 murder of 17-year-old Bijan Shoushtari, and solicited help from the public Thursday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The incident occurred about midnight, when Shoushtari was driving with two friends in the area of Crenshaw Boulevard and Vernon Avenue.

Police said a grey or silver vehicle drove alongside Shoushtari, and someone in the vehicle began shooting at Shoushtari and his friends.

Shoushtari was shot and fatally wounded.
