Sad Ending for Bald Eagle Trapped in Fence

A bald eagle snared in a Monterey County fence last month has been euthanized after veterinarians determined a severely injured wing required amputation.

Morro Bay's Pacific Wildlife Care http://www.pacificwildlifecare.org/news.html rescuers got the eagle out of a Fort Hunter Liggett fence on Feb. 1 and the bird was treated at a Monterey animal hospital until last week.

The eagle was transferred to the University of California, Davis, Raptor Center where veterinarians determined amputation was necessary.
