Sale of Anna Nicole Smith's Studio City Home Approved

Proceeds from the sale will benefit Smith's 6-year-old daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead

The sale of Anna Nicole Smith's spacious Studio City home has been approved by a judge, nearly six years after her death.

The five-bedroom, 5 1/2-bath, 4,700 square-foot home was to be sold for $1.3 million.

A judge approved the sale on Tuesday. Howard K. Stern, Smith's long-time confidante and lawyer – now the executor of her estate – said in court papers that the sale is "to the advantage of the estate and in the best interest of the interested persons."

The home at 3646 Avenida del Sol (map) is where the former Playboy Playmate's reality television series "The Anna Nicole Show" was filmed a decade ago.

Smith died in 2007 at age 39 after an accidental drug overdose in Florida. Stern was last fall cleared of a drug conspiracy conviction and other charges in Smith's death.

At the time of the star's death, Smith's home had an estimated value of $1.8 Million. The house, which sits on a 18,240-sqaure-foot lot with panoramic views, was recently appraised at $1.45 million.

Stern's lawyer, Richard Petty, said that after real estate commissions and tax liens are deducted, the remainder of the proceeds will benefit Smith's 6-year-old daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead.
