4 Injured in Four-Car Crash on Sepulveda Boulevard

The injured have been transported to a local hospital

Three people were critically injured, a fourth in serious condition, following a four-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in the Sepulveda Pass at Sepulveda Boulevard. The accident shut down a portion of the popular thruway in both directions at Mountaingate Drive.

Due to the accident that was reported around 5:15 p.m., one driver had to be extricated from the wreckage, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Three people are in critical condition, two of whom are suffering from life-threatening injuries, LAFD spokesman Matt Spence reported. A fourth person is in serious condition.

He added that all have been transported to a local hospital.

Authorities have yet to determine a cause for the accident.
