Sheriff’s deputies have released the sketch of a man suspected of abducting a child from a backyard Friday in an unincorporated area of Monrovia.

The man is described as Hispanic or African American, between 18 and 40 years of age with black hair.

The 6-year-old victim was able to get away from his alleged abductor, according to the sheriff's department.

The victim was playing in his backyard when a suspect picked him up and ran with him to a nearby apartment complex, sheriffs said. The suspect was covering the mouth of the victim with his hand, when the victim bit him.

The boy then ran from the scene and returned to his home safely.
