“He Was a Good Kid”: Police Offer $10,000 Reward For Information on 18-Year-Old Shot to Death

Two people were caught on camera fleeing the scene, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said.

Police are requesting for the public’s help in identifying two people who were caught on surveillance video fleeing the scene of a murder in the Florence-Graham area, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

A $10,000 reward is being offered after an 18-year-old man named Marshawn Jackson was shot to death.

Jackson's mother made a heartfelt plea through tears during a news conference, calling her son a "good kid" who loved his family.

What's most heartbreaking to Jackson's mother is that her son's shooting death comes on the anniverary - to the exact date - that her other son was shot and killed.

Jackson's cousin also spoke out at the news conference, and said he can’t imagine why anyone would want to shoot the 18-year-old.

"Marshawn was a good kid, he wasn't a gang banger," Christopher Eskridge said.

Jackson was killed in a shooting that took place on Aug. 27 on the 9500 block of Parmelee Avenue in unincorporated Los Angeles.

A man got into an argument with Jackson before shooting him, investigators said.

Police said they hope the $10,000 reward will encourage anyone with information to come forward.
