Officials in Orange County lifted an evacuation advisory in Silverado Canyon due to the danger of mudslides greatly diminishing following the passing of a storm.
The original recommendation affecting the area east of 30311 Santiago Canyon was put in place in light of of possible heavy rains and flooding Friday night, with the National Weather Service forecast that up to three quarters of an inch of rain overnight.
However officials are still monitoring the situation, and residents can still obtain sandbags at Orange County Fire Authority Station #14, which is located at Santiago Canyon Road and Hazel Bell Drive, according to an Orange County Emergency Operations Center press release.
