Crews Restore Power to Thousands Affected by Christmas Day Outage in Simi Valley

About 5,000 customers were affected by the outages, which began at about 9 a.m.

Utility crews restored power after a major outage affected thousands of customers in several Simi Valley neighborhoods on Christmas morning.

Outages were reported in the south-central part of the community and areas to the west, according to Simi Valley police. Southern California Edision crews restored power to most areas about two hours after the outages were first reported at 9 a.m.

Wind advisories are in effect Wednesday throughout Southern California.

About 5,000 customers were affected, according to the utility company. At noon, all but about 360 customers remained without power.

A SoCal Edison offical said the outages might be wind related. Wires were down at some sites.
