Pilot Hurt After Single-Engine Plane Crash

Witnesses who saw the crash from inside their homes helped pull the man from the wreckage, officials said.

A pilot was hurt Friday after a single-engine plane crashed in a vacant field in Rancho Cucamonga, officials said.

The crash was reported about 6:17 p.m. in the 10400 block of Almond Street, San Bernardino County Fire Department officials said.

Witnesses who saw the crash from inside their homes helped pull the man from the wreckage, officials said.

The man remained was taken to a trauma center, officials said.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
