Sketch Released of OC Attempted Kidnapper

LADERA RANCH, Calif. -- Orange County Sheriff's deputies say one of the places they are searching for an alleged kidnapper is on the Internet. Authorities are checking the database of sexual offenders who live within a 10-mile radius of where a 10-year-old boy was almost abducted Sunday afternoon.

Residents living in the Orange County community of Ladera Ranch believe the man has been canvassing their neighborhood since last Wednesday. He is described as having blond hair, with a goatee and an earring in his right ear. He was wearing a black T-shirt with the word "Quicksilver" on it, and is believed to be in his 30s.

Detectives say the man approached the boy and asked him if he wanted to go to a party. The 10-year-old ran home from the greenbelt where he was playing with other children.

Authorities are also looking for a white Ford Explorer, which the man may have been driving.
