Police say 38-year-old Raul Lopez used a chair to push five men out of the business before he was shot by one of them.

A restaurant worker shot to death in Sherman Oaks late Friday has been identified as Raul Lopez, 38.

Police said five men came into the restaurant where Lopez was working, Hoagies and Wings on Ventura Blvd. just west of I-405, at around 11 p.m. Friday night.

One of them got into an argument with Lopez, who police said then used a chair to push the five men out of the business.

While the men were outside, one pulled a handgun and shot Lopez, killing him. The men then fled in a dark-colored SUV, police said.

The case is being investigated by the Van Nuys homicide division of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Detectives say the shooter was a skinny, short-haired African-American man, between 5 feet 6 inches and five feet 7 inches tall.
