Police were pursuing a vehicle on the 405 Freeway heading northbound from the Long Beach area Tuesday night, with the chase traveling through West LA, the Sepulveda Pass, San Fernando Valley and onto the 5 Freeway through Castaic and up the Grapevine.

Newschopper4 Bravo was over the chase around 10:50 p.m. as the vehicle moved past West Los Angeles and through the Sepulveda Pass.

The vehicle continued on the 405 Freeway northbound at speeds that did not notably exceed the posted speed limit. The driver continued northbound until the 405 Freeway switched to the 5 Freeway.

With sirens flashing in the rear-view mirror, the driver continued to drive northbound in the left lanes and did not encounter any notable traffic. The vehicle did passed through a construction zone at one point, with the driver taking the pursuit vehicle on the wrong side of the cones and even hopping off the 5 Freeway momentarily to avoid the construction.

The vehicle passed through Castaic and was heading north on the 5 Freeway in Gorman when Newschopper4 Bravo pulled off the pursuit.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the pursuit.
