Police Pursuit of Woman in South LA Ends Peacefully

A police pursuit of a white sedan with a female driver wanted for driving recklessly and failing to yield in the South LA area Sunday evening ended peacefully in the Windsor Hills-View Park area.

Gil Leyvas and Newschopper4 Bravo were overhead at approximately 6:40 p.m. with a white sedan failing to yield in the Crenshaw area. The LAPD confirmed that LA School Police was in pursuit of the reckless driver that failed to yield.

The pursuit featured the female suspect driving on the wrong side of the street and even circling a vehicle at one point in attempts to make a U-turn.

Eventually, the relatively low speed pursuit concluded in the Windsor Hills-View Park area when LAPD officers boxed in the vehicle and approached the suspect with guns drawn, forcing her to surrender.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody at approximately 6:55 p.m., and the chase ended peacefully near the intersection of South La Brea Avenue and Overhill Drive.
