Driver jumps out of car multiple times during pursuit through San Gabriel Valley

The driver of a white car led authorities on a high-speed pursuit Tuesday night through the San Gabriel Valley.

The driver was seen passing through red lights and nearly missing oncoming traffic.

Several times during the pursuit, the driver was seen jumping out of the vehicle and then going back in to continue the pursuit. At one point, the driver abandoned the vehicle, jumped over a wall and ran around the backyard of a home in the East Los Angeles area.

Deputies had pulled back from the pursuit due to the dangerous nature of the pursuit. The driver then ran back to the vehicle and continued to Montebello.

He finally slowed down and surrendered to deputies on North Maple and West Victoria avenues in Montebello.
