Police search for driver after pursuit ends in Panorama City, passenger arrested

A stolen car suspect is in custody and police Thursday continued their search for the driver who led officers on a high-speed chase that ended in Panorama City.

Law enforcement helicopters were following a reported stolen Honda Accord on Nordhoff Street in North Hills around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday.  

The pursuit of the stolen vehicle started in the Santa Clarita Valley in the Newhall area. 

The driver was seen speeding through the highway and quickly reaching the San Fernando Valley. 

The pursuit traveled through North Hills and Panorama City. 

Two people then got out of the stolen car in Panorama City and were seen running away, abandoning the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle jumped the fence at a residence near Brimfield Avenue and Community Street in Panorama City.

Police have been searching for the driver who went into a residential area.

The second suspect, a woman, was taken into custody near Roscoe Boulevard.
