Pursuit Ends With 3 People in Custody for Possession of an Assault Rifle

The short-lived pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed into the divider while exiting on Towne Avenue in Pomona.

East Los Angeles Sheriff's were in pursuit of a dark-colored four-door sedan in the San Dimas area on Sunday night after reports came in that the people in the vehicle had possession of an assault rifle.

Newschopper4 was over the chase around 9:45 p.m. as the vehicle traveled eastbound on the 10 Freeway.

The pursuit seemed to have originated in the downtown Los Angeles and East LA area. The vehicle reached speeds of up to 120 mph.

The short-lived pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed into the divider while exiting on Towne Avenue in Pomona due to high speed.

Luckily, no other cars were involved in the crash.

A woman then exited the driver's seat with her hands up and was taken into custody. A man and woman who were passengers then exited the vehicle and were also taken into custody.

Authorities then proceeded to check the car, and confirmed that there was in fact an assault rifle in the back seat.
