Chase driver in pickup speeds wrong way on San Fernando Valley freeways

The wrong-way driver and several people who emerged from a house at the end of the the chase were taken into custody in Sun Valley.

The driver of a pickup that went the wrong way for miles on freeways Wednesday night in the San Fernando Valley and several other people were in custody after a pursuit.

The pursuit of a red Toyota Tacoma began in the Pacoima area after police reported that the driver possibly had a weapon. Law enforcement backed off the chase after the pickup was on the wrong side of the 5 and 170 freeways, at times without its headlights on.

Police continued to track the driver with their helicopter.

Eventually, the driver stopped near near Roscoe Boulevard and Webb Avenue, got out of the vehicle and entered a home in Sun Valley. Officers detained multiple people who came out of the house and arrested the suspected driver, who appeared to have changed clothes.
