California Highway Patrol were in pursuit Thursday of a driver suspected of domestic violence.
The chase began at approximately 10:30 p.m. in Montebello after police received a call of domestic violence potentially involving a child. The driver sped down the southbound 5 Freeway at speeds that reached up to 90 mph until the vehicle's tire fell off.
Speeds dramatically slowed down to about 30 mph as the chase approached the Camp Pendleton area, where officials engaged in a PIT maneuver. The driver behind the pursuit surrendered at around 11:35 p.m.
