1 Captured, 2 Still On the Run After Pursuit Ends at Glendale Galleria

After a police chase from Tarzana to the Glendale Galleria, police searched for burglary suspects near the mall after they ditched their getaway car Wenesday. One man had been taken into custody but two were still on the loose.

The three burglary suspects in a black Mercedes led a pursuit before stopping near the mall parking structure around 12 p.m.

Officers later found the sedan at Orange Street and Broadway, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

LAPD investigators say the men are part of a gang-related burglary crew that has hit numerous homes from Newport Beach to Santa Barbara..

Officers received a tip Wednesday that they planned to burglarize a house in the 19000 block of Lemmer Drive in Tarzana, so police were waiting for them.

"Generally these crews have one guy out front as lookout, while two go inside. They knock on the door to make sure nobody is home, then smash a rear window. They get in and out fast," Det. Bill Dunn said.

Police chased the men from Tarzana to Glendale and were able to recover some stolen property inside the Mercedes. Police say they don’t believe the men were armed and they never went inside the mall.
