Tommy has no idea he'll be competing today. I think I told him, but it didn't really register.

Tommy's first competitive jump. His goal? Dock to water in the most efficient manner. Not really going for distance, here.

Tommy won 3rd place in the division of dogs that jumped less than 10 feet. He was out-jumped by a Corgi. Not a lot of labs in that division.

... and he made a break for it. There he is up on the dock AGAIN! Note the ribbon around his neck and the very serious looking Australian Shepherd who is gearing up for a competitive jump.

Tommy and me just as the OC Register photographer asked for our picture. Stephanie cut off the bottom half of this photo out of respect for Tommy's privacy ... let's just say he's not "sitting" for this portrait. More like squatting.

A day well spent, and a night on the couch. Followed by about 10 hours of snoring.

I took the ribbon away from Tommy when he started to eat it on the way home. I lost track of it after that, but found it floating in the pool the next day.
