When 3-year-old Kaylieann Steinbach had to take school pictures, her daddy let her dress herself, and the result was an out-of-this world portrait as Supergirl that quickly went viral.
Her outfit of choice included donning a velvety cape, a big "S" on her chest and of course, her partner in heroism, a Superman action figure.
Local news from across Southern California
Her dad, Alex Steinbach, posted the photo to Reddit with the caption, "My daughter got to pick what she wore for her school pictures. Daddy approves."
It received nearly 5,000 upvotes and news outlets across the country began picking up the sassy squirt's story.
The Rocklin, California, family has been learning American Sign Language over the past five months as Kaylieann is 75 percent deaf in both ears, her father said.
"I love how much her learning sign has opened up her expressiveness and vocabulary it's so heartwarming to see her grow and become herself. We've started attending deaf groups and get-togethers once a month and it's helping her confidence is signing tenfold," Alex said.
