A suspect is in custody in connection with the stabbing murder of a Marine just back from a tour of duty in Iraq.
Anthony Vargas, 20, died after being found stabbed early Saturday morning, in Highland, Calif.
Matthew Duronio, 20, of San Bernardino, was arrested Sunday afternoon after leading investigators to his concealed car, an Acura Integra, which was hidden in a Valencia garage and had the windows and side-view mirror smashed out. Both Duronio and his underage girlfriend were taken into custody. The girl was later released to her parents, and Duronio was jailed at West Valley Detention Center.
Investigators are looking for other suspects and a second vehicle -- a black Toyota Sequoia or SUV with tinted windows and a white sticker on the lower left rear corner of the back window.
