2 People Held in Redondo Beach Slaying Released

Two people named as suspects in the fatal shooting of Bobby Darren Reynolds were released for further investigation, police said

Two people held in connection with a Redondo Beach murder were released from custody while a third person was still being sought in connection with the killing, officials said on Tuesday.

Eduardo Antonio Losa, 42, of Lomita, and Shelby Ann Johnston, 29, were released from custody after no charges were filed within 48 hours, said Capt. Jeff Hinks, of the Redondo Beach Police Department.

At press conference on Monday, Hink announced the arrests of Losa and Johnston and released their mugshots in connection with the Friday slaying of Bobby Darrin Reynolds, 38.

"We just need more time to piece together the details of the case," Hinks said. "By law we have to release them after 48 hours if charges are not filed."

Police sought Erick Julian Ortega in connection with the case.

Ortega, 27, is the registered owner of a Chrysler 300 that police said they recovered near the crime scene.

He has prior arrests for robbery and narcotics offenses and communicates with gang inmates, police said.
