Teens Arrested in Palm Springs Home Invasion

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -- Two teenagers were in custody Thursday in connection with a home invasion robbery in Palm Springs, while a third person was still at large, police said.

The home invasion robbery occurred last Tuesday afternoon at a home in the 1700 block of East Arenas Road, said Palm Springs police Sgt. Mitch Spike.

A woman answered a knock at the door and three men forced their way inside and held her, her 18-year-old son and his 19-year-old friend at gunpoint while taking a wallet and video game consoles, Spike said.

Following an anonymous tip, a 15-year-old Palm Springs boy was arrested the next day on suspicion of robbery and possessing a handgun and marijuana, Spike said.

A 16-year-old from Palm Springs was also arrested in connection to the robbery, Spike said.

The names of the youths were not released.
