Right? Nothing beats it, and the LA headquarters for get-called-by-name-o-sity is the Original Farmers Market at Third & Fairfax. Not only do people behind the counters remember customers' names, but customers remember the names of the people slicing their brisket and making their crepes.

"I Am Farmers Market," the get-to-know-your-merchant series that the landmark has recently revived, has a lot of this name-knowing spirit at its heart. You want to know the chefs and servers and nice people who make the market's delicious foodstuffs, and the stories of the various restaurants, and why certain dishes are beloved.

Magee's Kitchen is first up for the spotlight on this next round of "I Am Farmers Market." Of course, the series is about getting to know your merchants, but it is also about savings. Meaning? If you visit Magee's by Wednesday, Sept. 25, you could win a $75 Magee's gift certificate.
