Power Restored in Thousand Oaks

A power outage struck Thousand Oaks for most of the day on a sweltering Saturday for the second time this week, knocking out power to more than 2,000 customers.

The outage was the largest of several scattered outages throughout Southern California, according to Southern California Edison, leaving thousands without power or air conditionin.

Temperatures reached 97 degrees in Thousand Oaks on Saturday afternoon, and were in the triple digits elsewhere in the region.

The Thousand Oaks outage began about 11:40 a.m., though 32 homes lost power about two hours earlier.

The power was restored by late Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, nearly 5,000 customers in Thousand Oaks and the surrounding communities lost power as temperatures approached 100 degrees
