Tickets: Petersen ‘Back to the Future' Fun

Panels, an unveiling, and an "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance fill the museum's upcoming calendar.

Just about everyone who has missed an opportunity to buy a concert ticket to a sold-out show has wished aloud for the time-traveling DeLorean at the shiny heart of "Back to the Future."

If only they had Doc Brown's DeLorean, they could go back in time for that ticket. If only.

Matters grow slightly more meta, however, when you begin to wish you had the DeLorean to go back in time to purchase a ticket to a "Back to the Future" event. Make that multiple "Back to the Future" events, all built around, you guessed it, the famous souped-up, flux-capacitor'd DeLorean from the hit 1985 film.

Still following? We know you are, if you're a BTTF buff. You're able to follow the ins, outs, tangles, and sticky wickets of a curvy, twisty plot, and you'll be able to follow this: Tickets are on sale for the multiple happenings at the Petersen Automotive Museum, happenings that are all built around the institution's upcoming acquisition of the DeLorean DMC-12 from Universal Studios Hollywood.

That's right: The DeLorean is about to brake at the recently refurbished car museum at Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, and a flurry of parties and to-dos will welcome it with all the splendor and cheer of the film's "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance.

There will, in fact, be an "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance, on Saturday, April 23, complete with Missing Persons and a band called The Flux Capacitors. It's a 21-and-over deal with an '80s theme (not a '50s theme, but if you come dressed as George McFly circa 1955, well, cool beans.

A panel with co-creator Bob Gale, an unveiling of the DeLorean, a meetup of DeLorean enthusiasts, and a June screening are all on the coming-soon-ish roster. Tickets are available for everything, right now, today, in the present moment, as of this typing. Even more cool beans? There's an all-inclusive ticket, for all the events, priced at forty bucks.

But if we all reach a point in time where the tickets are sold out, well, nabbing a DeLorean to return in time to buy a ticket may not be in reach.

Best hedge your bets, don your puffy vest and/or hazmat suit, and secure your admissions now, time travelers and/or travelers to the Miracle Mile's famous auto museum, soon to be the forever home of one very beloved movie car.
