2 Dead, 4 Injured In Violent Northridge Car Crash

The driver and front passenger of a sedan were briefly trapped and taken to a hospital in critical condition, while two rear passengers were hospitalized in serious condition.

The driver and passenger in a sports coupe were killed on Saturday in a two-car crash in Northridge that left four other people injured.

The crash was reported at 2:08 p.m. in the 17500 block of Parthenia Street, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

All of the victims were adults, Humphrey said. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the coupe's driver was hospitalized in grave condition, he said. LAPD said the coupe's driver died a short time later.
