Two Guys Walk Out of a Bar, Then Crash Into It

Two men were recovering from minor injuries Tuesday after their car crashed into the side of a South Gate bar they had just left.

The crash at the Los Encino dance and cocktail bar, 4626 Firestone Blvd., was reported about 10:50 p.m. Monday, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor said.

The pair had just left the bar and pulled out of the parking lot, when the man driving lost control and slammed into the building, leaving the car halfway into the structure, Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. John Mancha said.

Both men suffered minor injuries, and were taken to hospitals following the crash, he said.

No one inside the establishment was injured.

"The building is compromised, and we have building and safety personnel on their way as well as gas and electric company representatives," Mancha said.

The bar was immediately closed after the crash and will not be reopened until the repairs were completed.

South Gate police were investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, Mancha said.
