Two Killed in Car-to-Car Shooting on 405 Freeway

Two men were shot and killed on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Long Beach Saturday night.

“When officers responded to the report of a vehicle on the northbound 405 freeway, just north of the Long Beach Boulevard on-ramp, they discovered the bodies of two male adults,” said Long Beach police Sgt. Rico Fernandez. “They were deceased from gunshot wounds inside a light-colored SUV that was pulled over to the right shoulder of the freeway,” said Fernandez..

The incident happened at around 9:30 p.m., and, as a result, all northbound lanes of the freeway were closed between Atlantic Avenue and the Long Beach (710) Freeway interchange until about 4:00 a.m., said California Highway Patrol officials.

The identities of the victims have not been released, pending the notification of their next of kin.
So far police have no motives or suspects in the murders.
