Two Killed in Pico Rivera Head-On Crash

A two-vehicle crash in Pico Rivera Monday morning left two people dead and a motorist in custody on suspicion of driving while impaired, authorities said.

The head-on collision occurred about 4 a.m. in the 5500 block of Paramount Boulevard, said Lt. Alex Villanueva of the sheriff's Pico Rivera Station.

Both the driver and passenger of one vehicle died at the scene, Villanueva said. Their names were withheld pending family notification. The driver of the other vehicle was arrested and was expected to be booked on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter, Villanueva said.

Information on the identity and gender of the suspect was not immediately released.
