An SUV backed into an elderly couple near a post office on Los Angeles's Westside Monday, killing a 74-year-old woman and injuring her husband, officials said.
A 91-year-old woman drove the red SUV into the couple at 10 a.m. in a post office parking lot in Mar Vista, according to Los Angeles Police Department officers.
Firefighters pronounced the woman who was hit dead at the scene, while the injured man, 83, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
The SUV's driver was not hurt, police said. The cause of the crash was undetermined.
