UCI Student Suspected of Strangling Wife is Dead

Cops believe UCI student committed suicide

The UCI student suspected of trying to strangle his wife in front of their two young daughters was found dead by police on Friday afternoon.

Gregory Scott Turner, 33, is believed to have killed himself in his truck 4:30 p.m. in San Juan Capistrano after UCI police used the GPS signal from his cell phone to locate his whereabouts, according to UCI spokesman Tom Vasich.

Turner's wife was hospitalized after the incident but was released Friday to a safe house. Her children are in the custody of child protective services but will be reunited with their mother this weekend, according to Vasich.
