Two Assailants Sought in UCLA Hate-Crime Attack

The UCLA student was attacked early Friday on Gayley Avenue in Westwood

Two men -- one with a knife -- shouted anti-gay slurs during an attack on a UCLA student early Friday at the Westwood campus.

The men got out of a vehicle and approached the student at about 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Gayley Avenue. The victim suffered minor scratches and bruises, according to a statement from the UCLA Police Department.

One of the attackers was described as white, approximately 26 to 27 years old, 5-foot-9 and 160 to 170 pounds. The man, whose head was shaved, was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The second attacker was described as Hispanic, 26 to 27 years old, 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds with long "slicked-back" hair.

The vehicle was described as a dark colored sedan.

The case is under investigation as a hate crime, according to campus police.
