Attacker Sought in Student Sexual Assault on UCLA Campus

Police were searching Wednesday for a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault on the UCLA campus, officials said.

A student reported the assault to campus police on Saturday, according to the UCLA Police Department.

The victim said she was sexually assaulted Jan. 28 after she was escorted to her room when she left a house party in the 10900 block of Strathmore Avenue around 11 p.m., according to the UCLA Police Department.

Sgt. Miguel Banuelos said detectives have some leads in the case and believe the premises have cameras that could help with their investigation.

"It's pretty scary because you never know when it's going to happen," UCLA freshman Julia Sperandio said.

The latest alleged attack is the third sexual assault either on or near the UCLA campus this year. One occurred in the 600 block of Gayley Avenue and the other in the 400 block of Landfair Avenue. Descriptions of the attackers are significantly different.
