Victims Sought in Case of Off-Duty LAPD Officer Accused of Exposing Himself in Public

Police on Wednesday sought further potential victims of an LAPD officer arrested on lewd act and indecent exposure charges in Huntington Beach.

Ryan Eric Galliher, 33, is accused of exposing himself to five women and a 12-year-old girl in five separate incidents in the Bolsa Chica area dating to Feb. 27, prosecutors said.

In one case, he allegedly asked the 12-year-old girl to touch his penis, prosecutors said. His oldest alleged victim was an 80-year-old woman, prosecutors said.

If convicted, he faces up to four years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for life, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Galliher is out of custody and has a court date of Jan. 5. He had no public phone listing and it's unclear whether he has an attorney.

He was placed on administrative leave from his LAPD job and was assigned home pending the outcome of the investigation, LAPD officials said in a statement.

In addition to the criminal case, the LAPD is doing an internal investigation.

Galliher was hired by the LAPD in November 2011 and was assigned to Southwest division patrol at the time of his arrest.

Galliher was arrested Oct. 23 after he had allegedly walked out of the Bolsa Chica wetlands, pulled down his shorts and masturbated, prosecutors said.

Anyone with information or who might be a victim of the suspect is asked to call the Huntington Beach police tip line at (714) 375-5066.
